KNOW YOUR RESIDENCY STATUS: In Delaware, to purchase a resident license you must be living in Delaware for at least 1 year prior to purchasing a license.

You may not establish residency in two different U.S. States. You might own homes in two or more states, but you can only claim residency in one U.S. State at a time. This is the state you claim residency on your FEDERAL income tax return.

  • All hunters under the age of 16 must be directly supervised by a person 21 years or older to carry a firearm or bow.

  • Hunters between the ages of 16 and 18 may hunt with a straight-walled pistol-caliber rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, or archery equipment without direct supervision by a person 21 years or older.
