Turkey Hunting Seasons & Areas

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

License Required

Any valid hunting or combination license EXCEPT a Short-term Combination Hunt and Fish License.

Tag Required

Hunt Permit-tag obtained only through application and draw process as prescribed in R12-4-104 and R12-4-114. EXCEPT for Youth-Only and Archery-Only turkey where a hunt nonpermit-tag must be obtainedfrom a license dealer as prescribed in R12-4-114.

Hunt Numbers Required

When applying for big game hunt permit-tags, you must use hunt numbers.

Legal Methods of Take

Limited Weapon-Shotgun Shooting Shot Hunt: Any shotgun shooting shot as prescribed in R12-4-318 orcrossbow or bow and arrow as prescribed in R12-4-304. Archery-Only Hunt: Bow and arrow as prescribed inR12-4-304 and R12-4-318, or crossbow if you possess a crossbow permit as allowed under R12-4-216.Centerfire rifles, muzzleloading rifles and handguns are not legal methods of take.

Bag Limit

One (1) turkey per calendar year except as prescribed in R12-4-120.

To hunt turkey in Arizona, you need a valid hunting or combination license and a turkey tag. To hunt turkey during a Limited Weapon-Shotgun ShootingShot season, you must apply through a draw for a hunt permit-tag. For Archery-Only hunts, you may purchase a nonpermit-tag from a licensedealer as prescribed in R12-4-114. For Youth-Only hunts, you may purchase a nonpermit-tag from a Department office or license dealer.

The Department offers “Youth-Only” designated hunts, in which persons are eligible to participate up to their 18th birthday. A youth hunter, whose18th birthday occurs after opening day of a “Youth-Only” designated hunt for which the hunter has a valid permit or tag, may continue to participate forthe duration of the “Youth-Only” designated hunt. Persons ages 10 through 13 must have satisfactorily completed a Hunter Education Course that isapproved by the Director per ARS 17-333.2 (C). Hunter Education classes fill up quickly. If you need your Hunter Education card before your hunt,get ahead of the game and register now. To register for a Hunter Education class, visit www.azgfd.gov/huntered or call 623-236-7239. No oneunder age 10 may hunt big game in Arizona. A youth must pay the higher fee unless applying only for “Youth-Only” hunts.

Notes for all Commission Orders in this booklet are listed below. Refer to the Note number(s) listed for each hunt in the hunt tables.

1. An 'antlerless deer’ is a deer, any age, without antlers.

2. The Buenos Aires, Cabeza Prieta, Cibola, Imperial, Leslie Canyon (designated areas), Bill Williams, Havasu, and Kofa National Wildlife Refuges are open to hunting as permitted by refuge regulations when Commission Order opens a hunt and the hunt occurs in their respective game management units; all other Refuges are closed. Refer to Index for Hunting on Public Lands.

3. The Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni - Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon-Parashant, Vermilion Cliffs, Sonoran Desert, Ironwood Forest, and Agua Fria Bureau of Land Management National Monuments are open to hunting when the unit they occur in is open to hunting by Commission Order.

4. In accordance with R12-4-303, it is unlawful to discharge an arrow, bolt, or hybrid device while taking wildlife within 1/4 mile of an occupied farmhouse or other residence, cabin, lodge, or building without permission of the owner or resident.

5. Camp Navajo in Unit 6B is open to hunting only to properly licensed hunters with a valid hunt permit-tag for deer, pronghorn, elk, or turkey who meet the qualifications as ‘Authorized Participants’ according to the installation hunting policies outlined on the National Guard Website. Only the designated species on the hunt permit-tag may be hunted while on Camp Navajo. Applications for these hunts must be submitted to the Arizona Game and Fish Department by the published deadline. Hunters must log onto the National Guard Website and read the installation policies and security requirements in order to have access to Camp Navajo hunt numbers: https://dema.az.gov/army-national-guard/camp-navajo/garrison-operations/camp-navajo-hunting-information. An applicant who applies for a category of permit for which he or she is not eligible to participate may not be authorized to participate in the hunt. All hunters are required to show proof of attendance in a hunter safety education course during paperwork submission for the Camp Navajo permit. Increases in Force Protection Conditions, training missions and industrial operations may result in partial or complete hunt cancellation at any time with little or no prior notification. In the event a hunt is cancelled, hunters drawn for these permits will not be reimbursed or otherwise compensated by the Arizona Game and Fish Department or Camp Navajo. Camp Navajo will charge a recreation fee for all hunters. No cash will be taken, only personal checks and money orders. The cost of the recreation fee can be found at the Camp Navajo Website above or by emailing the hunt coordinator at the email address found on Camp Navajo’s website. Eligibility requirements for a disabled veteran, wounded warrior, or Purple Heart hunt are provided on the Camp Navajo website: https://dema.az.gov/army-national-guard/camp-navajo/garrison-operations/camp-navajo-hunting-information. Written proof is required prior to being allowed to hunt on Camp Navajo.

6. For deer, javelina, mountain lion, and small game hunters, Barry M. Goldwater Range (BMGR) access is subject to military operations/closure and requires an Access Permit. For more information on how to obtain a permit, please visit the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma website at: https://www.mcasyuma. marines.mil/Staff-and-Agencies/ Range-Natural-and-Cultural-Resources/ OR the Luke Air Force Base Website at: https://www.luke.af.mil/ Units/56th-Range-Management-Office/. Unit 40B on BMGR-West is open to hunting as permitted under R12-4-304 and R12-4-318, except in the Restricted Areas which are closed to all public recreation. That portion of BMGR-East located in Unit 40B is closed to hunting. Transit through BMGR-East to hunt in Units 46A or 46B is not authorized. Hunters in BMGR-East areas of Unit 40A (east of SR-85) require only the Access Permit, but must also avoid Restricted Areas. It is the hunter’s responsibility to know his/ her location and remain clear of unauthorized areas. 7. The U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) is closed to hunting except those areas open in accordance with U.S. Army regulations to properly licensed U.S. citizens holding a valid YPG Hunting Access Permit and coordinating with YPG Range Control. Hunters drawn for Units 41W, 43A, or 43B who plan to hunt on YPG must obtain a hunting access permit before entering YPG. All persons accompanying the hunter on YPG must also have a permit. The permit must be with the permit holder at all times when on YPG. Access permits are issued through iSportsman at https:// yuma.isportsman.net/. Applicants must register online at iSportsman, and watch the Range Safety Briefing Video, after which, YPG will conduct a background check which takes 2 to 3 business days. Permits will only be available after the background check is complete. Once the background is cleared, applicants must log into their iSportsman account to purchase the Hunting Access Permit. Furthermore, all firearms or bows must be registered either at the visitor center or through iSportsman prior to entering YPG. Do not bring firearms into the visitor center. The weapon registration must be with the weapon, while on YPG. Due to military activities some hunting areas may be temporarily closed on short notice. 8. The Fort Huachuca Army Garrison in Unit 35A is open to hunting only to properly licensed military and Fort Huachuca civilian personnel holding a valid Fort Huachuca post hunting permit. Youth only hunts are only open to properly licensed military and Fort Huachuca civilian dependents holding a valid Fort Huachuca post hunting permit. Hunt numbers, season dates and/or special regulations must be obtained from Fort Huachuca. Increases in Force Protection may result in hunt cancellations at any time with little or no prior notification. In the event a hunt is cancelled due to an increase in security, hunters drawn for these permits will not be reimbursed or otherwise compensated by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Applications for these hunts must be submitted to the Arizona Game and Fish Department by the published deadline.

10. Rogers Lake Coconino County Natural Area in Unit 6B and Observatory Mesa City of Flagstaff Natural Area in Unit 11M are open to hunting but are closed to all cross-country vehicle travel including motorized big game retrieval. Hunting is not permitted within 1/4 mile of any occupied building, wildlife viewing platform, picnic area, or trailhead.

11. Successful Unit 12A (North Kaibab) general and youth-only deer hunters must check out and personally present their deer for inspection at the Jacob Lake Checking Station in accordance with R12-4-308. A check station will not be operated during the Unit 12A (North Kaibab) CHAMP, muzzleloader, or archery deer hunts.

12. 12A East Hunt Unit - that portion of Unit 12A located east of AZ Hwy 67 and south of U.S. Hwy 89A.

13. 12A West Hunt Unit - that portion of Unit 12A located west of AZ Hwy 67 and also that portion of Unit 12A located north of U.S. Hwy 89A.

14. 12B West Hunt Unit - that portion of Unit 12B beginning at the Arizona-Utah Stateline and BLM Rd. 1065; south on BLM 1065 to U.S. Hwy 89A; west on U.S. Hwy 89A to Kaibab National Forest boundary; north then west then south on the Kaibab National Forest boundary to Kanab Creek; north on Kanab Creek to the Arizona-Utah Stateline; east on the Arizona-Utah Stateline to BLM 1065.

15. A significant portion of Unit 25M is closed to hunting. Hunting is not permitted on any incorporated lands, including private property within municipal boundaries, unless otherwise opened under Commission Order. Incorporated lands include municipal corporations such as cities, towns, and villages. Hunting is also not permitted in an unincorporated portion of land west of Loop 202 (San Tan Freeway) known as the Elliot and Hawes County Island in Section 16, Township 1 South, Range 7 East.

16. The following described area in Unit 26M is closed to hunting: those private lands lying just north of the Town of Cave Creek in Sections 10, 11, 12, 14 and 15 of Township 6 North, Range 4 East.

17. The following described area in Unit 26M is closed to hunting: the unincorporated portion of land within the Town of Queen Creek in Pinal County in Sections 5, 7, 8, and 18 of Township 3 South, Range 8 East.

18. The following parks and preserves in Maricopa County are open to hunting only during the archery-only seasons within respective units as defined in R12-4-321 and Commission Order : Lake Pleasant, White Tank Mountains, Estrella Mountain, Buckeye Hills, and McDowell Mountain Regional parks; McDowell Sonoran Preserve; and portions of Skyline Regional Park (Back Country designated area only--contact the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Mesa Regional office or City of Buckeye for open area maps). These parks and preserves are also open to small game hunting in season as defined in R12-4-321, except for McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which is closed to small game hunting. Hunting in parks and preserves opened by this Commission Order is not permitted within 1/4 mile of any developed picnic area, developed camp ground, shooting range, occupied building, boat ramp, or golf course. Developed areas do not include trails.

19. Unit 31 and 32 hunts - Access to Aravaipa Canyon Wildlife Area (as prescribed in R12-4-802) is allowed by permit only, available through the Safford Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management. For more information, contact the Safford Field Office at (928) 348-4450 or Recreation.gov search Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness Permit.

20. The Santa Rita Wildlife Area in Unit 34A is actively used for studies in wildlife management. Researchers are present all months and study sites are not always recognizable; hunters are urged to use caution while hunting and take care not to disturb study sites.

21. The following described area in Unit 36B is closed to hunting: in the posted portion of Sopori Ranch south of Arivaca Road in Sections 14 and 15, Township 20 South, Range 11 East. The remainder of Sopori Ranch is open to hunting.

22. The following City of Tucson Water Properties located in Avra Valley are open to hunting: the Duval property in Unit 36C and the Bowden-west, Buckalew, Cactus Avra, Ed Anway, Flying E Bar, Kai, Nichols, Tucker, and Trust 205 properties in Unit 37A; all other Tucson Water Properties are closed to hunting. All open City of Tucson properties are foot access only at designated entry points. Signing in and out is required at sign-in boxes located at designated entry points.

23. The following described area in the Town of Marana in Unit 37A is closed to hunting: beginning at the intersection of Sanders Road and Avra Valley Road; north on Sanders Road to the Santa Cruz River; southeast along the Santa Cruz River to the Central Arizona Project Canal; southwest along the Central Arizona Project Canal to Avra Valley Road; west on Avra Valley Road to the intersection of Sanders Road.

24. The Florence Military Reservation (training areas B and D: the areas north and south of Cottonwood Canyon Road) in Unit 37B is subject to short term closures due to military operations, including live fire operations, and requires coordination with the Florence Military Reservation for hunting access. For specific closure dates or any other access concerns, contact the Florence Military Reservation at (602) 267-2060.

25. Tucson Mountain Wildlife Area in Unit 38M is closed to the discharge of all firearms. Tucson Mountain Wildlife Area and Tucson Mountain Park in Unit 38M are open to archery hunting, except those portions within 1/4 mile of any occupied residence or building, developed picnic area, developed campground, shooting range, boat ramp, or golf course are closed to hunting. Developed areas do not include trails. Archery hunters planning to hunt the Tucson Mountain Wildlife Area must check-in online at www.azgfd.gov/tmhregistration prior to going afield. Tucson Mountain Park is a Pima County Park that occurs within the boundaries of the Tucson Mountain Wildlife Area. The boundary for Tucson Mountain Wildlife Area is as follows: Beginning at the northwest corner of the Saguaro National Park boundary (Township 13 South, Range 11 East, Section 33); south about 1 mile to the El Paso Natural Gas Pipeline; southeast along El Paso Natural Gas Pipeline to Sandario Rd; south on Sandario Rd about 2 miles to the southwest corner of Township 14 South, Range 11 East, Section 15; east along this section line to the El Paso Natural Gas Pipeline; southeast along the El Paso Natural Gas Pipeline to AZ Hwy 86 (Ajo Hwy); easterly on AZ Hwy 86 to the Tucson city limits; north along the city limits to Silverbell Rd; northwest on Silverbell Rd to Twin Peaks Rd; west on Twin Peaks Rd to Sandario Rd; south on Sandario Rd to the Saguaro National Park boundary; west and south along the Park boundary to the northwest corner of the Saguaro National Park boundary (Township 13 South, Range 11 East, Section 33).

26. Unit 39 - Arlington, Base and Meridian, Robbins Butte, and Powers Butte Wildlife Areas are closed to discharge of centerfire rifled firearms.

27. The following described area in the Town of Quartzsite in Units 43A and 44B is closed to hunting: Sections 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, and 35, Township 4 North, Range 19 West and Sections 2, 3, and 4, Township 3 North, Range 19 West.

28. Areas of public or private land within or surrounded by the Navajo Nation are included as part of the open area for this hunt number.

29. For hunts in Units 5A and 5B North, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has entered into a Landowner Compact Agreement with the Bar T Bar Ranch and Flying M Ranch located in the northern portion of Units 5A and 5B. A Ranch Pass and adherence to Ranch Rules is required to access these ranches. Signage at points of entrance to the ranch provides notification of the Landowner Compact Agreement. The free Ranch Pass, a copy of Ranch Rules, and location map may be obtained online from the Department’s Landowner Relations Program web page www.azgfd.gov/landownercompact. Ranch Passes and Ranch Rules for the Flying M Ranch may also be obtained at sign-in boxes located at either of the two entrance points onto the ranch. Ranch Passes and Ranch Rules for the Bar T Bar Ranch may also be obtained at the Meteor Crater Gas Station/Convenience Store.

30. For hunts in Unit 4A, Unit 5A, and Unit 5B, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has entered into an agreement with the Hopi Tribe to allow access to Hopi Trust lands. Access is permitted by written permission only through the Department’s Landowner Relations Program web page, www.azgfd.gov/landownercompact. Please submit your request for access in advance for hunting and scouting purposes. All permitted minor hunters under the age of 18 will need the parent/ guardian to request access for the minor.

31. Hopi Trust lands in Units 4A, 5A, and 5B are open to both state and Hopi hunters under an agreement with the Hopi Tribe. A percentage of tags are set aside for Hopi Tribal member hunters. Hopi hunt numbers for these hunts must be obtained from the Hopi Tribe Wildlife and Ecosystems Management Program by calling (928) 734-3673, or (928) 734-3671. Non-Hopi Tribal members cannot apply for these hunts. Applications for these hunts must be submitted to the Arizona Game and Fish Department on the standard form by the published deadline. If all permits for these hunts are not issued through the draw, the left-over permits will be available to all hunters (tribal and non-tribal) through the first-come, first-serve process. Hunt numbers for left over permits will be available on the AZGFD website.

32. Hopi Trust Lands in Units 4A, 5A, and 5B North-The Hopi Tribe Wildlife and Ecosystem Management Program requires all AZGFD State Certified/Licensed Outfitters and Guides who conduct business (guide, pre-scout, or request access on behalf of their clients) on the Hopi 3 Canyon Ranches in Units 4A, 5A, and 5B North to contact the Hopi Tribe’s Office of Revenue Commission at (928) 734-3172 or (928) 734-3171, or access business license application at www.hopi-nsn.gov under the Office of Revenue Commission link. Upon approval of a Hopi Business License, access to the Hopi 3 Canyon Ranches may be obtained via email at [email protected] and/or [email protected] and/or by calling the Hopi Wildlife and Ecosystems Management Program at (928) 734-3673 or (928) 734-3671.

33. Restricted nonpermit-tags for these population management seasons will be available to permit holders in corresponding big game hunts. All notes associated with the corresponding big game hunt also apply to this hunt.

34. Aerial population surveys are conducted in August and September for elk and pronghorn and in December and January for deer and javelina each year. You may observe an airplane or helicopter conducting surveys and short-term disturbance of animals could occur during this hunt. Where possible, efforts will be made to minimize this disturbance.

36. The Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge is open to deer hunting in accordance with Refuge regulations (www.fws.gov/refuge/Cabeza_Prieta/visit/rules_and_regulations.html). A visitor access permit (https://bmgr.recaccess.com/) is required to access and hunt on the Refuge. When entering the Refuge, hunters should complete a Self-Clearing Visitor Registration Form (FWS Form 3-2405) available on the refuge website and at boundary kiosks located at all refuge entrances. The use of electronic or photographic trail monitoring devices, including game cameras, is prohibited. Refer to the Refuge regulations for site-specific management area closures. Units 46A and 46B are primarily composed of designated wilderness and contain only three public access roads - El Camino del Diablo, Christmas Pass Rd, and Charlie Bell Rd. Deer hunters are responsible for contacting the Refuge prior to their hunt to obtain information regarding temporary closures in coordination with AZGFD. All permit holders, whether you harvest or not, must check out. Successful permit holders must present their deer for inspection at a check station, in accordance with R12-4-308. Information about the check station will be mailed to each hunter at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the hunt. Permit holders who do not harvest may check out by calling the AZGFD Yuma Regional Office at 928-342-0091.

42. For hunts in Unit 18A and Unit 18B, The Arizona Game and Fish Department has entered into a Landowner Compact Agreement with the Fort Rock Ranch. The Fort Rock Ranch is located in the northern portion of Unit 18B. If you drew this hunt and are interested in hunting on the Fort Rock Ranch, please visit the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Access Program website: www.azgfd.gov/fortrockranch for how access is granted by Fort Rock Ranch.

43. For hunts in Unit 10, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has entered into a Landowner Compact Agreement with the Boquillas-Diamond A Ranch. The Boquillas-Diamond A Ranch encompasses the entire western half of Unit 10, about 720,000 acres. This hunt may have restricted access. For hunts in Unit 10, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has entered into a Landowner Compact Agreement with the Perrin Ranch located in the eastern portion of Unit 10. A Ranch Pass and adherence to Ranch Rules is required to access this ranch. Signage at points of entrance to the ranch provides notification of the Landowner Compact Agreement. The free Ranch Pass may be obtained at sign-in boxes at these points of entrance. 45. For hunts in Unit 7, the Arizo- na Game and Fish Department has entered into a Landowner Compact Agreement with the Walking Cane Ranch located in the southeastern portion of Unit 7. Adherence to Ranch Rules is required to access this ranch. A location map and Ranch Rules can be viewed and printed from the Department’s Landowner Relations Program web page www.azgfd.gov/landownercompact.

47. The use of dogs is prohibited during bear hunts from January 1 to July 31 (R12-4-304).

52. 5B South Hunt Unit - That portion of Unit 5B located south of the following roads: Beginning at the junction of FH 3 (Lake Mary/Clints Well Road) and FR 125; east on FR 125 to FR 82; south on FR 82 to FR 69B; east on FR 69B to FR 69.

55. 22 North Hunt Unit - That portion of Unit 22 located north of the following: Beginning at the confluence of the Verde River and the East Verde River; easterly along the East Verde River to FR 406; easterly on FR 406 to AZ Hwy 260 in Payson; easterly on AZ Hwy 260 to Tonto Creek (the Unit Boundary).

56. 22 South Hunt Unit - That portion of Unit 22 located south of the following: Beginning at the confluence of the Verde River and the East Verde River; easterly along the east Verde River to FR 406; easterly on FR 406 to AZ Hwy 260 in Payson; easterly on AZ Hwy 260 to Tonto Creek (the Unit Boundary).

57. 23 North Hunt Unit - That portion of Unit 23 located north of the following: Beginning at the junction of Tonto Creek and Spring Creek; east along Spring Creek to FR 134; east on FR 134 to FR 129; east on FR 129 to AZ Hwy 288; east on AZ Hwy 288 to FR 54; east on FR 54 to FR 202; south on FR 202 to FR 127; east on FR 127 to FR 127A; east on FR 127A to the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation Boundary.

58. 23 South Hunt Unit - That portion of Unit 23 located south of the following: Beginning at the junction of Tonto Creek and Spring Creek; east along Spring Creek to FR 134; east on FR 134 to FR 129; east on FR 129 to AZ Hwy 288; east on AZ Hwy 288 to FR 54; east on FR 54 to FR 202; south on FR 202 to FR 127; east on FR 127 to FR 127A; east on FR 127A to the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation Boundary.

78. Turkeys in Units 29, 30A (north of AZ Hwy 80), 30B, 31, 32, 33, 34A, 34B, 35A, and 35B are Gould’s turkeys.

80. Turkeys in Unit 13B North are Rio Grande turkeys.

81. Turkeys occur near residential areas in these units. Be aware, without permission you may not discharge a firearm, arrow, bolt, or hybrid device within a 1/4 mile of an occupied residence or building while hunting (per A.R.S. 17-309 A 4; R12-4-303).

82. 13B North Hunt Unit - Beginning on the western edge of the Hurricane Rim at the Arizona-Utah state line; southerly along the western edge of the Hurricane Rim to Mohave County Road 30 (Navajo Trail); west along Mohave County Road 30 to Mohave County Road 5 (Mt. Trumbull Road); north along Mohave County Road 5 to BLM Road 1004; west along BLM Road 1004 to Mohave County Road 101 (Mud Mountain Road); southwest along Mohave County Road 101 to the Arizona-Nevada state line; north along the Arizona-Nevada state line to the Arizona-Utah state line; east along the Arizona-Utah state line to the western edge of the Hurricane Rim.

83. 13B South Hunt Unit - Beginning on the western edge of the Hurricane Rim and Mohave County Road 30 (Navajo Trail); south along the Hurricane Rim to Mohave County Road 5 (Mt. Trumbull Road); west along Mohave County Road 5 to the town of Mt. Trumbull (Bundyville); south on Mohave County Road 257 to BLM Road 1045; south on BLM Road 1045 to Cold Spring Wash; south along the bottom of Cold Spring Wash to Whitmore Wash; southerly along the bottom of Whitmore Wash to the Colorado River; westerly along the Colorado River to the Arizona-Nevada state line; north along the Arizona-Nevada state line to Mohave County Road 101 (Mud Mountain Road); northeast on Mohave County Road 101 to BLM Road 1004; east on BLM Road 1004 to Mohave County Road 5 (Mt. Trumbull Road); south on Mohave County Road 5 to Mohave County Road 30 (Navajo Trail); east on Mohave County Road 30 to the western edge of the Hurricane Rim.

84. Designated areas within the Buenos Aires and Leslie Canyon National Wildlife Refuges are open to hunting during this hunt as permitted by refuge regulations; all other Refuges are closed (see Index: Hunting on Public Lands).

85. 6A North Hunt Unit - that portion of Unit 6A north of FR 153 (Schnebly Hill Road) on the west side of Interstate-17 and north of FR 213 (Stoneman Lake Road) on the east side of Interstate-17.

86. The following area in Unit 37A in the Town of Marana is subject to temporary closures in February for special events. All state lands located south of Cochie Canyon Trail in Township 11 South, Range 12 East.

87. The number of javelina in these units is very low, and hunt success is expected to be low. Hunt access may be restricted on private property; be sure you obtain permission to hunt on private land. More information on this hunt is available on the Department’s website at www.azgfd.gov/otc. Only a portion of Unit 39 is open during this hunt. The closed portion of Unit 39 is that portion within AZGFD Region 6 as follows: Beginning at AZ Hwy 85 and the Gila River; east along the Gila River to the western boundary of the Gila River Indian Reservation; southeasterly along the reservation boundary to N. Rio Bravo Rd; south along N. Rio Bravo Rd to AZ Hwy 238; west on AZ Hwy 238 to Gas Pipeline Rd (Komatke Rd); northwesterly along Komatke Rd to AZ Hwy 85; south along AZ Hwy 85 to Lewis Prison Rd; west along Lewis Prison Rd to W. Patterson Rd; southwesterly along W. Patterson Rd to Old Hwy

80; northeasterly on Old Hwy 80 to AZ Hwy 85; southerly on AZ Hwy 85 to the Gila River. Robbins Butte, Powers Butte, and Arlington Wildlife Areas are closed during this hunt. The portion of Unit 40B in Pima County is also closed to this hunt.

88. The posted portions of Roosevelt Wildlife Area are closed to hunting in Units 22, 23, and 24B from November 15 through February 15 as prescribed in R12-4-801 and R12-4-802.

89. For this hunt, open areas are restricted to subunits 3-1, 3-2, G, and K within Fort Huachuca. Any use of these tags to take javelina in other areas is prohibited. This hunt is offered as a management hunt to reduce the incursion of javelina onto Libby Army Airfield. Hunting within the perimeter of Libby Army Airfield is prohibited. Descriptions of these subunits will be provided by Fort Huachuca.

90. All bighorn sheep hunters (or their designee) must check out within 3 days following the close of the season at any Department office in accordance with R12-4-308. Unsuccessful hunters and those who did not hunt must also check out either in person or by telephone at any Department office.

91. The Bill Williams River, Cabeza Prieta, Havasu, Imperial and Kofa National Wildlife Refuges are open to bighorn sheep hunting as permitted by refuge regulations; all other Refuges are closed. Due to travel restrictions in the Wilderness Area, those persons interested in hunting bighorn sheep on the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge should contact the Refuge Manager (520) 387-6483 for information regarding special refuge regulations prior to applying.

92. This unit experiences high levels of activity associated with the Mexico border, which is a potential safety and property loss concern. Hunters should be aware of the added challenge this poses, and be prepared to make informed decisions on camping areas and safety in the field. Prior coordination with appropriate land management and enforcement agencies is recommended.

93. For bighorn sheep hunters, Barry M. Goldwater Range (BMGR) access is subject to military operations/ closure and requires an Access Permit. For more information on how to obtain a permit, please visit the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma website at: https://www.mcasyuma. marines.mil/Staff-and-Agencies/ Range-Natural-and-Cultural-Resources/ OR the Luke Air Force Base Website at: https://www.luke.af.mil/ Units/56th-Range-Management-Office/. Unit 40B on BMGR West is open to hunting as permitted under R12-4-304 and R12-4-318, except in the Restricted Areas which are closed to all public recreation. For BMGR-East areas in Unit 40B, only Bighorn Sheep hunters with a current tag and their specified participants may access designated BMGR-East areas to hunt or for transit to Units 46A or 46B, and only after receiving a Special Use Permit (SUP) issued by Luke AFB. No other hunting or access is permitted in Unit 40B on BMGR-East areas. Hunters in BMGR-East areas in Unit 40A (east of SR-85) require only the Access Permit, but must also avoid Restricted Areas. It is the hunter’s responsibility to know his/her location and remain clear of unauthorized areas. 94. 12B East Hunt Unit - That portion of Unit 12B lying east of the following line: Beginning at the Utah Stateline and BLM road 1065; southerly along BLM 1065 to U.S. Hwy 89A; westerly on U.S. Hwy 89A to the Kaibab National Forest Boundary; South and east on the boundary of the Kaibab National Forest to the Boundary of the Grand Canyon National Park.

95. Upper Blue River Hunt Area in Unit 27 - That portion of Unit 27 beginning at the Junction of U.S. Highway 180 and the New Mexico state line; south along the New Mexico state line to Forest Trail 41; northwest along Forest Trail 41 to the Little Blue River; south-southwest along the Little Blue River to the confluence of the Blue River; north along the Blue River to Forest Trail 14; west on Forest Trail 14 to U.S. Highway 191; north on U.S. Highway 191 to U.S. Highway 180; east on U.S. Highway 180 to the New Mexico state line.

96. This unit has a low density bighorn sheep population in a remote area with difficult access. Hunters should be prepared for backcountry camping and extensive strenuous hiking in an extremely remote, harsh hunting environment.

97. Non-residents: Permits are available within these hunt numbers for which you may be drawn in accordance with R12-4-114(E).

98. This hunt unit is remote, with limited road (or no road) access and difficult terrain. Hunt success has averaged less than 70%. Hunters should be prepared for backcountry camping and extensive, strenuous hiking, or the use of horses and/or mules.

99. Superstition Wilderness Hunt Area in Unit 24B - That portion of Unit 24B within the boundaries of the Superstition Wilderness Area. This Hunt Area is remote, with no road or vehicle access within the Wilderness Area. Hunters should be prepared for extensive, strenuous hiking in difficult terrain. The use of horses or mules is encouraged.

100. Rocky Mountain Hunt Area in Northern Unit 22 - That portion of Unit 22 located north of the following: Beginning at the confluence of the Verde River and AZ Hwy 87, northeasterly along AZ Hwy 87 to Rye Creek; southeasterly along Rye Creek to Tonto Creek (the Unit 22 boundary); sovereign tribal lands of the Salt River-Pima, Fort McDowell Yavapai, and Tonto Apache Nations within this boundary are excluded from this hunt area. A large portion of this hunt area is located within the Mazatzal Wilderness Area, with limited road or vehicle access. Hunters should be prepared for extensive, strenuous hiking in difficult terrain. The use of horses or mules is encouraged.

101. Desert Hunt Area in Southern Unit 22 - That portion of Unit 22 located south of the following: Beginning at the confluence of the Salt River and Verde River, north along the Verde River to AZ Hwy 87; northeasterly along AZ Hwy 87 to AZ Hwy 188; southeasterly along AZ Hwy 188 to the Salt River; westerly along the Salt River to the confluence with the Verde River; sovereign tribal lands of the Salt River-Pima and Fort McDowell Yavapai Nations are excluded from this hunt area.

102. Black River Hunt Area in Units 1 and 27 - That portion of Units 1 and 27 beginning at the Fort Apache Indian Reservation boundary and FR 116; north and east on FR 116 to FR 249E; east on FR 249E to FR 249; east on FR 249 to FR 285; north on FR 285 to FR 88; east on FR 88 (turns into County Road 2108) to U.S. Hwy 191; south on U.S. Hwy 191 to FR 25; northwest on FR 25 to FR 25D; west on FR 25D to the San Carlos Indian Reservation boundary; north along the San Carlos Indian Reservation and then Fort Apache Indian Reservation boundaries to FR 116.

103. Units 46A and 46B are primarily composed of designated wilderness and contain only three public access roads - El Camino del Diablo, Christmas Pass Rd, and Charlie Bell Rd. There is no vehicular access to much of the sheep habitat within these units (especially in Units 46A West and 46B East, where some mountain ranges are 6-12 miles from the nearest road). Hunters should be prepared for extensive hiking and backcountry camping in extremely remote, desert conditions. Pack and saddle animals may be used by obtaining a special permit from the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge.

105. Hunters are advised that a disease outbreak has occurred in Units 15A, 15B East, 15B West, 15C, and 15D. Hunters who are drawn for these units should be prepared for a decrease in availability of older age class rams.

106. Hunter access is restricted on the east and west ends of Aravaipa Canyon and on the north side of Redfield Canyon; hunters will need to secure access into these areas prior to the hunting season. Access across private property is typically given on a first-come basis.

109. Kanab Creek Hunt Area in Units 12A West, 12B West, and 13A - Beginning at intersection of AZ Hwy 389 and the eastern edge of the Kaibab Paiute reservation; east along AZ Hwy 389 to the intersection of AZ Hwy 389 and U.S. Hwy 89A; south and east on U.S. Hwy 89A to the intersection of AZ Hwy 89A and FR 22; south and east on FR 22 to the intersection with FR 423; west and south on FR 423 to the intersection with FR 427; south on FR 427 to the intersection with FR 425; south on FR 425 to the intersection with FR 292; south on FR 292 to the Grand Canyon National Park boundary; west along the Grand Canyon National Park boundary to Toroweap Road; north on the Toroweap Road to the intersection with BLM road 5; north on BLM road 5 to the intersection with BLM road 109; north on BLM road 109 to intersection with the Kaibab Paiute Reservation boundary; east and north along the Kaibab Paiute Reservation boundary to the intersection with AZ Hwy 389. This unit excludes sovereign tribal lands of the Kaibab Band of Paiute Indians.

110. Cottonwood Wilderness Hunt Area in Unit 13A North - Beginning at the intersection of AZ Hwy 389 and the Arizona/Utah state line; east to along the Arizona/Utah state line to the western boundary of the Kaibab Paiute Reservation; south along the western boundary of the Kaibab Paiute reservation to the intersection of AZ Hwy 389; northwest on AZ Hwy 389 to the Arizona/Utah state line. Be aware of private land and municipalities. This unit excludes sovereign tribal lands of the Kaibab band of Paiute Indians.

111. Unit 37A and Unit 12BE Hunts - Hunters are advised that the three Unit 37A (west of I-10) and Unit 12BE hunts have overlapping season dates in order to provide each hunt a 3-week season while attempting to minimize crowding concerns.

112. South Fork Hunt Area in Units 1 and 2B - That portion of Units 1 and 2B beginning at the Fort Apache Indian Reservation boundary and FR 116; north and east on FR 116 to FR 249E; east on FR 249E to FR 249; east on FR 249 to FR 285; north on FR 285 to FR 88; east on FR 88 (turns into County Road 2108) to U.S. Hwy. 180/191; south on U.S. Hwy. 180/191 to Alpine; in Alpine east on U.S. Hwy 180 to the New Mexico border; north along the New Mexico border to County Road 6040 (Salt Lake Road) in Unit 2B; west on County Road 6040 to U.S. Hwy 191; south on U.S. Hwy 191 to U.S. 60; west on U.S. 60 to FR 117; south on FR117 to AZ Hwy 260; west on AZ Hwy 260 to the Fort Apache Indian Reservation; south along the reservation boundary to FR 116.

113. All hunters with a bison tag for either Raymond Wildlife Area or House Rock Wildlife Area will be required to attend a hunter meeting prior to hunting. In accordance with R-12-4-306, a hunter with a bison hunt permit-tag for Raymond Wildlife Area or House Rock Wildlife Area may also be accompanied by an authorized Department employee during the hunt.

114. All hunters with a bison tag, including hunters who did not hunt or harvest, shall check out online at www.azgfd.gov/bisonhunt within 3 days following the close of the season.

115. Successful applicants will be contacted in writing by the Arizona Game and Fish Department to provide them with additional information regarding their hunt.

116. The Grand Canyon National Park is closed to hunting.

117. When the number of female bears equaling the female harvest limit for a particular hunt has been reported killed, the unit(s) will be closed at sundown the Wednesday immediately following. Hunters are responsible for checking online at www.azgfd.gov/bearhunting or calling 1-800-970-BEAR (2327) before hunting to determine if their desired hunt unit is still open.

118. Annual Female Harvest Limit - If the Annual Female Harvest Limit for a given unit is met during a calendar year, that unit or portion thereof will close to bear hunting for the current and future bear seasons during that calendar year. The Annual Female Harvest Limit is includes any female bear killed by a hunter or the Department. Refer to the table for the Annual Female Harvest Limit by unit.

119. The Leslie Canyon National Wildlife Refuge is open to black bear hunting as permitted by refuge regulations; all other Refuges are closed.

120. Harvest Thresholds - When the number of mountain lions equaling the harvest threshold for a particular mountain lion management zone has been reached, that zone will close to take at sundown the Wednesday immediately following for the remainder of the mountain lion hunting season. Hunters are responsible for checking online at www.azgfd.gov/lionhunting or calling 1-877-438-0447 before hunting to determine if any mountain management zones are closed.

121. A person participating in a pursuit-only season may use dogs to pursue mountain lions or raccoons, but shall not kill or capture the quarry, pursuant to R12-4-318. If a mountain lion or raccoon is treed, the hunters and dogs must immediately back away from the treed animal and leave the area. Hunters participating in a pursuit-only season must have in their possession a valid hunting license plus for mountain lions a valid mountain lion hunt permit-tag or pursuit-only tag. The use of dogs is not allowed on National Wildlife Refuges.

122. Buenos Aires and Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuges are open to mountain lion hunting as permitted by Refuge regulations. A refuge special use permit or access permit may be required; contact the individual refuges for their regulations.

123. National Wildlife Refuges may be open to hunting as permitted by Refuge regulations. A refuge permit may be required; contact the individual refuges for their regulations (see Index: Hunting on Public Lands). The use or possession of other than non-toxic shot is prohibited in the Bill Williams River, Cibola, Havasu, and Imperial NWRs.

124. Any raw bobcat pelt sold or exported must have a permit tag attached in accordance with R12-4-305.

125. Raccoon may be taken at night with the aid of artificial light; however the light may not be attached to or operated from a vehicle.

127. In units listed with this note, coyotes may be taken at night with the aid of artificial light; however, the light may not be attached to or operated from a vehicle.

128. Hunter access is extremely restricted in this unit or a unit within this hunt. Applicants should secure access from the landowner before applying.

129. The following Pima County parks and preserves are open to hunting if the unit they occur in is listed as an open area during this hunt: A-7 Ranch in Units 32 and 33, Oracle Ridge Property in Unit 33, Six Bar Ranch in Unit 33, Emperita Ranch in Unit 34B, Bar V Ranch in Unit 34B, Sands Ranch in Unit 34B, Clyne Ranch in Unit 34B, Diamond Bell Ranch in Unit 36A, Marley Ranch in Units 36A and 36B, Rancho Seco in Units 36A and 36B, Kings 98 Ranch in Unit 36C, Old Hayhook Ranch in Unit 36C, Verdugo in Unit 36C, Bee Ranch in Unit 37A, Mordka Ranch in Unit 37A, Buckelew Ranch in Unit 37A, Carpenter Ranch in Unit 37A, Cochie Canyon Ranch in Unit 37A, Lords Ranch in Unit 37A, and Tortolita Mountain Park in Unit 37A. Hunting in County Parks, opened by this Commission Order, is not permitted within 1/4 mile of any developed picnic area, developed camp ground, shooting range, occupied building, boat ramp, or golf course. Developed areas do not include trails.

130. Refer to A.R.S. 17-301D for trapping restrictions on public land.

131. These seasons shall be held in accordance with R12-4-115 and may include shorter time frames, smaller geographic areas, and specification of legal wildlife more restrictive than that described in this Commission Order.

132. Individuals that have previously harvested a bison in Arizona and have met the one (1) per lifetime bag limit are not eligible to purchase the restricted nonpermit-tag for bison.

133. No person shall knowingly use any substance as bait at any time to attract or take bear (R12-4-304).

135. MANDATORY REPORTING (R12-4- 308): All hunters must report their bear or lion harvest online, by telephone, or in-person within 48 hours of taking the animal. For bears, report online at www.azgfd.gov/ bearhunting, by telephone at 1-800- 970-BEAR (2327), or in-person within 48 hours of taking a bear. For lions, report online at www.azgfd. gov/lionhunting, by telephone at 1-877-438-0447, or in person within 48 hours of taking a lion. The report shall include the hunter’s name, hunting license number, tag number, sex of the animal taken, management unit where the animal was taken, and telephone number at which the hunter can be reached to obtain additional information. MANDATORY PHYSICAL INSPECTION (R12-4-308): Within 10 days of taking a bear or lion, the hunter (or their designee) shall present the animal’s skull and hide with attached proof of sex to a designated Arizona Game and Fish Department employee for inspection. If the skull and hide are frozen, they should be defrosted prior to presenting for inspection as a premolar tooth will be removed from the animal. If the skull and hide are frozen, we will not be able to complete the check-out and you will be asked to reschedule. Successful hunters must contact the Department office, where they plan to bring their animal, by telephone to coordinate inspections.

136. The Arizona Game and Fish Department no longer has a compact agreement with the Babacomari Ranch. The Babacomari Ranch allows a very limited number of hunters onto the privately owned ranch each year. Please contact the ranch manager at 520-455-5507 to inquire about access. Once the ranch limit for access has been reached, hunters may not receive a call back. A non-response from the ranch manager means the Babacomari Ranch is not allowing any additional hunter access.

137. Archery Deer Harvest Thresholds - When the number of deer harvested during the over-the-counter, nonpermit-tag archery season equals the harvest threshold for a particular unit and legal deer has been reached, that unit will close to archery deer hunting at sundown the Wednesday immediately following for the remainder of the archery deer hunting season. Hunters are responsible for checking online at www.azgfd.gov/archerydeerrepor... or calling 623-236-7961 before hunting to determine if any archery deer units are closed.

139. The Wenima Wildlife Area in Unit 2B is closed to quail hunting.

140. In accordance with R12-4-305 each sandhill crane possessed or being transported shall have a permit-tag attached to its leg or neck and either the fully feathered head or one fully feathered wing shall remain attached until it arrives at the hunter’s permanent abode or the place where it is to be consumed.

141. The area within the following described boundaries shall be closed to sandhill crane hunting during the sandhill crane season dates: Beginning at Willcox, southeast on AZ Hwy 186 to the Kansas Settlement Road; south on the Kansas Settlement Road to E. Robbs Road; west along E. Robbs Road to power-line; along power-line running in a southwest direction to AZ Hwy 191 at the power plant; north on AZ Hwy 191 to Interstate 10; northeast on Interstate 10 to Willcox.

142. The area within the following described boundaries shall be closed to sandhill crane hunting at Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area. Beginning at the junction of Coffman and Davis roads; south on Coffman road to the posted portion at the southern end of Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area boundary. Additionally, posted portions of the Alamo Ranch; north to the boundary with that portion of Whitewater Draw Wildlife Area in Section 30, Township 12 South, Range 26 East; west along the posted portion of the Wildlife Area to Frontier road; north on Frontier road to Davis road; east on Davis Road to the point of origin.

143. Sandhill crane hunt permit-tags may be obtained only through application and drawing procedures prescribed in R12-4-104 and the Hunt Permit-Tag Application Schedule. Successful applicants will receive three (3) Sandhill crane hunt-permit tags.

144. The Units 28 and 29 crane hunts may be more difficult than other areas because of the close proximity to the New Mexico border and the cranes are mostly located on private lands. Hunters in these units will need to work closely with landowners to secure access to hunting areas prior to the hunt.

145. All General sandhill crane hunts have a mandatory check station of harvested sandhill cranes this year. The Department will not send personal letters out to successfully drawn hunters, so all hunters with permits must visit www.azgfd.gov/ cranehunt for additional information on how to comply with this mandatory check of all harvested sandhill cranes.

146. On Leslie Canyon National Wildlife Refuge, hunting of this species is permitted only when the hunted species’ State season dates overlap with a general or archery State deer and/or javelina hunt season. These species may not be hunted during youth only deer and javelina seasons. The use of dogs and pneumatic weapons is prohibited.

148. The Willcox Playa Wildlife Area (in Unit 30A) is open to hunting and trapping in season, except that the posted portion (SE 4 of Section 3 and SW 4 of Section 2 and the NE 4 of Section 10, T15S, R25E) is closed to public entry from the first day of the waterfowl season through February 28 of the following year. The Willcox Playa Wildlife Area is closed to off- road motor-powered vehicular entry and travel at all times.

149. Apprentice falconers are limited to capture of passage raptors, adult American kestrels, adult western screech owls, and adult great horned owls (R12-4-422.Q.2; R12-4-422.H.1.c).

150. A General or Master falconer may take from the wild a raptor of any age, including nestlings, provided at least one nestling remains in the nest (R12-4-422.Q.3).

151. In Pima, Pinal, Graham, Santa Cruz, and Cochise counties, Western screech-owls may only be captured in Sonoran Desert habitats below 2,500 ft elevation.

152. Nonresident falconers are responsible for knowing the importation rules of their resident state. Some state’s regulations do not allow for some raptor species to be used in falconry.

153. Harris’s hawks, northern goshawks, and peregrine falcons must be banded after capture (R12-4- 422.R.1.). Nonresident falconers, contact one of the Department’s Regional Falconry Permit Coordinators prior to your hunt to schedule an appointment for banding.

154. Harris’s hawks have a quota of 30 animals for resident falconers and the season will be closed upon public notification (1-855-970-HAWK) by the Department that the quota has been met. Prior to harvesting a Harris’s hawk for falconry, a resident falconer must call the Department at 1-855-970-HAWK (4295) to ensure that the season is still open. Once the resident annual harvest limit is reached, the Department will close the season and update the recording at 1-855-970-HAWK (4295) by Wednesday at 5:00 pm. Even if a falconer is within the season dates established under Commission Order 25, the season will close and no further harvest will be permitted once the annual harvest limit has been achieved.

155. Only General and Master falconers are allowed to capture peregrine falcons. Eyas peregrine falcons may only be taken between 18 and 27 days of age in the nest, and after fledging within the nest area until the season closes. The captured peregrine falcon must have 100% immature plumage to qualify as recently fledged.

157. For hunts in Units 7 and 9, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has entered into a Landowner Compact Agreement with the CO Bar Ranch. A Ranch Pass and adherence to Ranch Rules is required to access this ranch. Signage at points of entrance to the ranch provides notification of the Landowner Compact Agreement. The free Ranch Pass may be obtained at sign-in boxes at these points of entrance. A location map and Ranch Rules can be viewed and printed from the Departments Landowner Relations Program web page www.azgfd.gov/landownercompact.

160. The following portions of 12AE are closed to bison hunting for Kaibab Plateau Herd hunts : That portion of House Rock Wildlife Area beginning at the House Rock Wildlife Area entrance on the 8910 road, southerly to the 3510 road (wildlife area headquarters road); easterly on the 3510 road to the South Canyon trailhead; north along the rim of South Canyon to the easternmost terminus of the northern House Rock Wildlife Area boundary; west along the House Rock Wildlife Area boundary fence to the 8910 entrance.

164. Chiricahua Wilderness Hunt Area in Unit 29 - Consists of the Chiricahua Wilderness area in the Coronado National Forest. The Chiricahua Wilderness Area consists of many of the upper slopes and inner canyons of the Chiricahua Mountains and covers just over 87,000 acres. There is no vehicle access into the wilderness area and hunters should be prepared and physically capable of hiking or riding horseback into the steep rugged terrain. There are many access points into the Wilderness area on trails originating in lower canyons such as Rucker, Turkey Creek, Pine, Cave Creek, Sulphur and Price. Accessing the upper reaches of the wilderness area may be possible from Rustler Park and Barfoot Park. However, it should be noted that at higher elevations snow may still be present and road conditions may hinder a hunter’s ability to reach these areas by vehicle. Please adhere to all Forest Service road closures and restrictions. The Chiricahua Wilderness Hunt Area boundary is the same as the Chiricahua Wilderness area which is signed and regulated by the Coronado National Forest. This wilderness hunt area does not include the Chiricahua National Monument Wilderness, which is closed to hunting. 168. All archery deer nonpermit-tag hunters must report their deer harvest online at www.azgfd.gov/ArcheryDeerReport or by telephone at 623-236-7961 within 48 hours of taking a deer. The report shall include the hunter’s name, hunting license number, tag number, species of deer taken, management unit where the deer was taken, and telephone number at which the hunter can be reached to obtain additional information.

169. Lower Blue River Hunt Area in Unit 27 - That portion of Unit 27 beginning at the New Mexico State Line at the junction with US Highway 78, Southwest along Hwy 78 to US Highway 191, north along US Highway 191 to Forest Trail#14 (AD Bar Trail), east along FT 14 to the Blue River, south along the Blue River to the confluence of the Little Blue River, northeast along the Little Blue River to Forest Trail #41, west along FT #41 to the New Mexico State Line, south along the New Mexico State line to the junction with US Highway 78.

170. Bradshaw Mountain Hunt Area in Units 20A, 20B and 20C - That portion of Units 20A, 20B and 20C beginning at the intersection of AZ Hwy 89 and AZ Hwy 69; west on Gurley St. to Grove Ave.; north on the Grove Ave. to Miller Valley Rd., northwest on the Miller Valley Rd. to Iron Springs Rd. (County Rd 10), west and south on Iron Springs Rd to Skull Valley and Copper Basin Rd; east on Copper Basin Rd to FR 53; east and south on FR 53 to AZ Hwy 89; east on AZ Hwy 89 to FR 73; south and east on FR 73 to FR 97B; south and east on FR 97B to FR 667; south and east on FR 667 to FR 9403C; north on 9403C to Golden Eagle Rd; east and south on Golden Eagle Rd to FR 52 (Senator Hwy); south and east on FR 52 to FR 362; south and west on FR 362 to the end of the Prescott National For-est boundary; east and south along the Prescott National Forest boundary to near North Fork Rock Creek where the forest boundary heads north; north along the Prescott National Forest boundary to where it intersects with Antelope Creek Rd (County Road 179); northwest on Antelope Creek Rd to AZ Hwy 69; northwest on AZ Hwy 69 to junction of AZ Hwy 89 at Prescott; except those portions that are sovereign tribal lands of the Yavapai-Prescott Tribe.
