Jewell Meadows WA (Clatsop Co)

All areas posted as “Refuge” are closed to public entry. The Beneke Tract is open to hunting only during game mammal and game bird seasons. Posted portions of the Beneke tract are closed to public entry during any open Saddle Mtn Unit elk season except for black-tailed deer hunting only during the General Any Legal Weapon Western Oregon Season with a valid unused tag. The Humbug Tract is open to hunting only during game mammal and game bird seasons. It is unlawful to shoot firearms and bows from or across open fields during any open Wilson Unit elk season. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Sauvie Island WA (Multnomah and Columbia Cos)

Open to hunt­ing for black-tailed deer during archery season, except Oak Island (Multnomah-Columbia Co) is closed to deer hunting and Sturgeon Lk Refuge is closed to all hunting. Rabbit hunting is allowed in the North Unit only during Sept. 1 - Jan. 31, 2025. Free daily hunt permits are required and are available at self-service check stations located at Sauvie Island WA headquarters, Willow Bar parking lot off Reeder Rd and North Unit parking lot. Hunters must check in and out daily. Closed to hunting for furbearers, predators, unprotected and protected wildlife (except black-tailed deer, rabbit, crow, Eurasian collared dove and game birds). Use of rifles, handguns and crossbows prohibited at all times. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

E.E. Wilson WA (Benton Co)

Open to big game hunting during authorized seasons, except closed to archery deer hunting when youth pheasant hunts are in progress. (See current Oregon Game Bird Regulations.) Rabbit hunting is permitted from Nov. 1 through the end of Feb. Hunting by permit only. Permits are available at self-service stations located on the area. Hunters must check in and out daily. Use of rifles, handguns and crossbows prohibited at all times. The possession or use of shot other than federally-approved non-toxic shot is prohibited. Non-toxic shot restrictions do not apply to big game hunting. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Fern Ridge WA (Lane Co)

Open to big game hunting during authorized seasons (see current Oregon Game Bird Regulations). Free daily hunting permits are required for all units and are available at self-service stations located at area access points. Hunters must check in and out daily. Hunters limited to muzzleloaders, shotguns and archery equipment only; discharging rifles and handguns prohibited. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Tami Wagner WA (Lincoln Co)

Open for wildlife-oriented public use unless otherwise excluded or restricted by the following rules: discharge of any firearm is prohibited except as authorized during game bird and game mammal seasons. Camping is prohibited. Unauthorized motor vehicle use is prohibited. Phone 541-867-4741.

Coquille Valley WA
(Coos Co)

Access to the WA must be through the access point on North Bank Ln. A free daily hunting/access permit is required of all visitors to the WA and must be possessed at all times by the visitor. It must be completed and returned at the end of the day. Coquille Valley Wildlife Area is composed of two tracts, Beaver Slought tract and Winter Lake Tract. Beaver Slough Tract is open to access year round, seven days per week. Winter Lake Tract is open to access year round, seven days per week, however, from September 1 through January 31 it is only open to access on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Federal or State Holidays. No person may possess or use shot other than Federally approved non-toxic shot for hunting other than for hunting of big game, furbearers or unprotected wildlife when the hunter is using a rifle or a shotgun with buckshot or slugs. Discharge of a firearm into or from a Safety Zone is prohibited at all times. Camping and/or open fires are prohibited.

Denman WA
(Jackson Co)

Open to hunt­ing only during game mammal and game bird seasons. The use of rifles and handguns prohibited at all times. All hunters must check in and out daily at self-service check stations located at area access points. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Klamath WA (Klamath Co)

Miller Island Unit is closed to all big game hunting. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Prineville Reservoir WA (Crook Co.)

Open to public access and hunting of big game and game birds during authorized seasons. Motorized vehicle travel is restricted to designated open roads. This area is closed to motorized vehicle access from Nov. 15 or Dec. 1 as posted at each gate through April 15 annually.

That part of the Ochoco and Maury Unit as follows: 5 square miles in Township 16S, Range 17E.

White Rvr WA
(Wasco Co.)

The Wildlife Area lands north of Forest Road 27 are closed to the public from December 1 through March 31. Motor vehicle travel is only allowed in parking areas, designated campsites, and open roads. No cross country travel or off road motor vehicle use is allowed, except for administrative use. ATV/OHV and snowmobile use are prohibited on all area lands except for administrative use. Camping is prohibited except in designated campsites, and may not exceed 14 days in a 30-day period. Campfires and open burning prohibited except in designated campsites. Fires are prohibited during designated fire closures. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Lower Deschutes WA
(Sherman and Wasco Cos.)

Open to the discharge of firearms only while hunting of big game and game birds during authorized seasons, except that discharge of firearms is prohibited within the Wild and Scenic waterway boundary from the third Saturday in May through August 31. Access by foot, boat, or bicycle only. Use of domestic pack goats is prohibited at all times. Camping is allowed on the Woosley tract from three days prior to the opening of controlled buck deer season through February 28, and may not exceed 14 days per stay. Public access to the Woosley tract is only allowed from the Deschutes River through adjacent Bureau of Land Management lands.

Willow Cr WA
(Gilliam and Morrow Cos.)

Discharge of firearms is prohibited except during game bird, game mammal, furbearer seasons, or for the hunting of nongame, non-protected wildlife. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Irrigon, Coyote Springs, and Power City (Morrow-Umatilla Cos)

Use of rifles and handguns prohibited at all times. Big game hunting is prohibited at Coyote Springs. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Phillip W Schneider WA (Grant Co.)

Open to public access and hunting Apr. 15 - Jan. 31. Motorized vehicle travel restricted to open rds. Some rds closed seasonally from Dec. 1 - Apr. 14. Use of domestic pack goats is prohibited at all times. ODFW parking permit is required (ssee below for more information).

Bridge Cr WA
(Umatilla Co.)

Open to public access and hunting Apr. 15 - Nov. 30. Motorized vehicle travel restricted to open rd. A portion of the public access rd is closed for vehicular travel following the closure of Rocky Mtn Elk 2nd Season. 20 sq mi in Townships 5 & 6S, Ranges 31 & 32E in southwest corner of Ukiah Unit. Use of domestic pack goats is prohibited at all times.

Elkhorn WA
(Baker-Union Cos)

Open to public access Apr. 11 - Nov. 30, or by permit. Roth Tract closed to all hunting; an entry permit is required at all times of the year. Motorized vehicle travel restricted to open rds. Permanent Rd closure: 7 sq mi in T6S, R38E. ATV and snowmobile use is prohibited on all area lands except for administrative use. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Ladd Marsh WA (Union Co)

All land north and east of Foothill Rd are open to big game hunting Wed., Sat., Sun. and Federal holidays August 1 through January 31. The use of centerfire rifles and handguns is prohibited. A free daily access permit is required. All safety zones and refuge areas are closed to all hunting. All lands west of Foothill Rd are closed to all entry Feb. 1 - Mar. 31. ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information).

Wenaha WA (Wallowa Co)

Open to public access and hunting from April 1 through December 31. Exceptions: Year-round public access is permitted at designated camping areas, (headquarters and Griz Flat), on Department land along the Wenaha Rvr, and between the Grande Ronde Rvr Rd and the Grande Ronde Rvr from the Redmond grade bridge below Troy to the mouth of Wildcat Cr. Motorized vehicle travel restricted to open rds. Camping is restricted to areas designated for that use. Permanent Rd closure: 17 sq mi in T5 and 6N, R42 and 43E along eastern edge of Umatilla Forest in northeast corner of Wenaha Unit. Use of domestic pack goats is prohibited at all times.

Minam Rvr WA (Wallowa Co)

Open to public access and hunting Apr. 1 - Nov. 30. Exception: Year-round public access is permitted on the Minam Rvr Trail and associated parking area along Hwy 82 only. Camping is prohibited. The WA is closed to the public between 10pm and 4am. ATV and snowmobile use is prohibited on all area lands except for administrative use.

Enterprise Wildlife Area (Wallowa Co)

Open to hunting seven days a week. Except those posted portions of the area lying south of the Union Pacific Railroad line and the entire Marr Tract are closed to all hunting.

Riverside WA (Harney & Malheur Cos)

Open to hunting and fishing. Camping is prohibited. Open fires are prohibited. The use of domestic pack goats is prohibited at all times. Motorized vehicle travel is only allowed on open road or parking areas.

Summer Lake WA (Lake Co)

Portions of the Area are open to public access and hunting during authorized big game and game bird hunting seasons. It is unlawful to discharge firearms except during game mammal and game bird hunting seasons. Centerfire rifles and handguns are prohibited for game mammal hunting east of Hwy 31. Closed to game mammal hunting with firearms during any pheasant, quail or waterfowl hunting seasons east of State Hwy. 31 and posted refuges areas are closed to hunting. Motorized vehicle travel restricted to open rds and some rds may be closed prior to and during waterfowl hunting seasons. Hunters must obtain a daily hunting permit. Check out at the end of the day or following two consecutive days is required. Permits and area maps are available at Headquarters (1.1 mi south of the town of Summer Lake). ODFW parking permit is required (see below for more information). Please note: The area south of Thousand Springs Lane (Lake Co. Road 4-17), except the Foster Place unit and specified open rds and campgrounds may be closed to access seven days prior to general waterfowl hunting seasons.

Display your parking permit at wildlife areas

Don’t forget to display the parking permit that comes with your hunting license on your vehicle at the following wildlife areas: Coyote Springs, Ken Denman, EE Wilson, Elkhorn, Fern Ridge, Irrigon, Jewell Meadows, Klamath, Ladd Marsh, Phillip W. Schneider, Power City, Sauvie Island, Summer Lake, White River and Willow Creek.

A free annual permit comes with the purchase of an annual hunting license, combination license, or Sports Pac. All other wildlife area users need to purchase a permit. Permits are available where fishing and hunting licenses are sold and on the ODFW website: myodfw.com/articles/buying-odfw-wildlife-area-parking-permit.
