Learning Opportunities and Classes

Mandatory
Bighorn Ewe ID Class
This is mandatory for ewe tag holders.
This class educates hunters about the difference between adult ewes, ram lambs and yearling rams to ensure harvest of proper sex.

Black Bear Indoctrination
This is mandatory for black bear tag holders AND their representative guides and sub-guides.
This provides information on aging and sexing black bears, informing tagholders that it is unlawful to harvest a sow with a cub, discuss habitat associations and black bear biology, and discusses hunt zone restrictions within certain hunt units.

Mountain Goat Sex ID Class
This is mandatory for mountain goat tag holders.
This class educates hunters to know difference between billy (male) and nanny (female) mountain goats.

Voluntary
Bighorn Ram Seminar
This is voluntary.
This educates hunters on the bighorn ram history, management, biology and habitat associations, regulations, field ID aging and horn scoring, hunting, trophy care and disease issues.
