Seeman Pond

Nestled close to downtown Minden is one of the newest urban fisheries. Over the past few years Seeman pond has been substantially renovated and amenities have been added making it a great place to take the kids fishing, attend a family picnic, or just enjoy a stroll around the area on one of the many walking paths and trails.

This pond hosts a number of fish species including largemouth bass, bluegill, rainbow trout and even the occasional catfish. Water quality is good here and allows for spring stocking plans from March through May (sometimes even into June) to include 2,000 catchable rainbows and another 2,000 catchable rainbows during the fall! Channel catfish stocking during the summer may be in the near future so be sure to keep an eye on the fish stocking reports during June and July when it’s too warm for trout stocking. Urban ponds like this one are very popular and as such get some of our biggest and best fish available. Limit is three game fish and there are no size restrictions or special tackle regulations so it’s a fun and easy place to catch a limit.

To get here, just take the Buckeye Road exit off Highway 395 in downtown Minden and head south for about 100 yards. Amenities include a vault toilet, fishing dock, and covered picnic tables.

Please remember it is illegal to dump pets like goldfish or other aquarium exotics, they can cause serious problems for our fisheries.
