Delaware’s Public Freshwater Fishing Ponds

More than 30 Delaware freshwater lakes and ponds are open for fishing and other recreations. These impoundments range in size from 5 to 189 acres and support a variety of gamefish. Detailed information for each pond—including maps, fish species lists with abundance, and types of aquatic vegetation—can be found using the Delaware Ponds Map.

Logan Lane Pond

Logan Lane Pond is intended for physically handicapped anglers only. It can be accessed via the Logan Lane Tract within the Ted Harvey conservation area. A Conservation Access Pass (CAP) is not required to park in the adjacent parking lot. Licensed fishing in any Division-managed wildlife area pond is prohibited from September 1 through January 31 and during the spring turkey season.

Circle Hooks for Striped Bass

Delaware’s regulation requires using non-offset circle hooks when fishing for striped bass using cut or whole natural baits like clams, squid, mackerel, menhaden, seaworms, or eels. Using non-offset circle hooks significantly increases survival of released striped bass by reducing occurrences of gut hooking.

Graphic titled “Know Before You Go Tilefishing” explaining permit and reporting requirements for bluefin and golden tilefish, with a QR code.
Before tilefishing in Delaware waters, recreational anglers must have a permit and report trips for blueline or golden tilefish within 24 hours of returning to port.
