Major Changes for 2025–2026:
- Included Colbert and Franklin Counties in CWD Management Zone redefining high risk zone and buffer zone areas and deer limit.
- Created a CWD sampling permit allowing additional antlered deer permit(s) from the CMZ.
- Allow two unantlered deer or one unantlered deer and one antlered buck to be taken per day from zones A, B, D, E, & CWD.
- Removed walleye restriction on the Duck River Reservoir.
- Removed the saltwater striped bass restriction on the Inland Reservoir.
- Clarified black bass included in slot limit on Lewis Smith Reservoir.
- Changed trapping season dates from specific calendar dates to generic dates.

Major Changes for 2024-2025
- Expanded the Southwest, West Central, and Lake Eufaula Alligator Management Areas.
- Modified hunting dates and hours for all Alligator Management Areas except Southeast.
- Changed the Alligator Size and Bag Limits and included a new bonus management harvest permit and allow nonresidents to apply for a harvest permit.
- Reduced creel limit of Skipjack Herring.
- Prohibited the selling of Skipjack Herring from the Tennessee River and its tributaries.
- Removed slot limit of Largemouth Bass on Little Bear Creek Reservoir.
- Changed limited quota permit system for duck blinds at Swan Creek Wildlife Management Area.
- Expanded the Mobile-Tensaw Delta Waterfowl Management Zone.
- Prohibited operations of air-cooled motors in portions of Mud Creek WMA during Waterfowl season. Restricted the use of air-cooled motors in the dewatering areas of Mud Creek WMA and portion of Raccoon Creek WMA.
- Changed dates of operating airboats and air-cooled motors in Crow Creek and North Sauty Refuges.
