You can buy it online at www.huntnh.com—all you need is documentation of having bought a NH hunting license at some point since 2000; you can get your turkey, bear, and pheasant permits online as well. Or, visit one of 250 friendly NH license agents throughout the state.

Get started on your scouting by checking out the 2010 N.H. Wildlife Harvest Summary; it lists results for last year’s hunting seasons by WMU and town, including harvest statistics and hunting/trophy records. This, plus topo maps, Wildlife Management Area maps and info, and lots of basic information on hunting in New Hampshire, is at your fingertips at the Fish and Game website, www.huntnh.com.

NEW FOR 2011

This year, the woodcock hunting season has been expanded to 45 days from the 30 days it has been for the last several years. This has allowed us to move the opening day back to October 1, when all the other small game seasons open, and extend the season to November 14, which will allow hunters the opportunity to take flight birds well into the fall. The snipe hunting season has also been extended to November 14.

NEW FOR 2012

Starting in January of 2012, New Hampshire will be offering an Apprentice Hunting License. This license essentially provides a one-time, one-year exemption from the hunter and/or bowhunter education requirements for anyone, provided they are accompanied by a properly licensed adult 18 years of age or older while hunting.
