Nominate Your Conservation Hero
Mike Normandin of Belmont, NH, earned the 2010 Ellis R. Hatch Jr. Commission Award of Excellence, the commission’s highest honor, for spearheading the renovation of Barry Conservation Camp – a summer camp in Berlin, NH, where youth learn outdoor skills. Normandin mobilized volunteers statewide to help rebuild the camp and raise money for an endowment. Through his efforts, Barry Camp reopened in June of 2011.
Peter St. James of Warner, NH, was awarded the Communication Award of Excellence for his consistent promotion of sportsmen’s interests and NH Fish and Game Department initiatives. St. James is a longtime member of the New England Outdoor Writers Association and a radio personality on WTPL-FM, where he actively shares what is new and important relating to Fish and Game issues.
