Trophy Fish Program New Hampshire’s Trophy Fish Program gives anglers of all ages recognition for their biggest catches, while giving biologists important information on the fisheries over time. There are awards for both kept and released fish in 22 freshwater species and 7 saltwater species categories. All qualifying entrants receive a “Trophy Fish” shoulder patch for submitting their catch information. Each year, the person catching the heaviest fish or releasing the longest fish in a particular species category receives a certificate suitable for framing. All ages and all legal methods of angling are represented. Your trophy may qualify for a state record; see list above. Check FishNH.com for NH trophy fish rules, minimum weights/lengths and entry forms. |

Christopher Richardson, age 9, of Springfield, NH, with his state-record channel catfish (31.25 in.; 11 lbs., 3.52 oz.), caught while bait-casting on the Connecticut River. His record was broken in 2012 by Andrew White of Vermont.
Regulations in red are new this year.
