What's New for 2023

Sage-grouse

  • In Elko County, hunt units 075, 101 and 102 are open once again with season dates from September 23rd through October 1st and a daily and possession limit of 2 birds.
  • In Nye and Lander County, hunt units 172 and 173 are open once again with season dates from September 23rd through the 24th with a daily and possession limit of 2 birds.
    • Hunt Units 161 and 162 of Nye, Eureka and Lander County are closed for the 2023 season.
  • In Washoe County, hunt unit 015 is open once again with season dates of September 23rd through the 24th with a daily and possession limit of 2 birds.

Wild Turkey

  • A new hunt opportunity for hunt unit 091 in Elko County will be available in the spring of 2024.
  • A new hunt opportunity for hunt units 103 and 108 in Elko County will be available in the spring of 2024.
  • In Lincoln County, the hunt area will be split into two unit groups consisting of hunt units 223 and 231, and hunt units 241 and 242. This will lead to greater hunt opportunities in the future and reduce potential hunter congestion in some locations.
  • In Lyon County, that portion of hunt unit 202 will be open for the first time with 2 tags available in 2024.

Bobcat Pelt Sealing Dates and Times

  • Some modifications were made to bobcat pelt sealing dates and times. Please consult the Furbearer Regulations for details. Of note, there will not be an opportunity to seal pelts in Eureka this year. In Ely, the location of the sealing has been changed from the Ely NDOW office to the newly acquired Blue Diamond property located at 2018 Pioche Highway in Ely, NV 89301.
