Deer Seasons and Bag Limit Summary

Only one antlered deer per hunter may be taken during the special youth, archery, firearms, and muzzleloader seasons combined.

Deer Season Type

Special Youth Season

1 antlered deer and the number of antlerless deer that is allowed by the bonus county quota in the county where hunting

Archery Season

2 antlerless deer or 1 antlered deer and 1 antlerless deer

Firearms Season

1 antlered deer

Muzzleloader Season

1 antlered deer or 1 antlerless deer

The following bag limits are in addition to the season bag limits listed above.

Urban Deer Zone

4 antlerless deer (1 per license) or 3 antlerless deer and 1 antlered deer (1 per license) (see “earn-a-buck” requirements)

Military/Refuge Properties (by drawing or invitation only)

1 deer of either sex per license

State Park
(must be drawn in online reserved hunts at
hunting.IN.gov)

An antlered deer must have at least one antler that is at least 3 inches long.
