Northern Zone Either Sex Deer Hunting Days

Buck only except during either sex days. Fulton (north of GA Hwy 92) and all of Clayton, Cobb, and DeKalb Counties are CLOSED to firearms deer hunting. In the portion of Forsyth County lying south of GA Hwy 20, archery equipment, shotguns and muzzleloading firearms only (no other firearms allowed). Antler restrictions in Hancock, Meriwether and Troup Counties: ONLY bucks with at least four points (one inch or longer) on one side of antlers are legal.

Chattahoochee & Oconee National Forests

Either sex days on National Forest lands differ from county regulations.

• Chattahoochee NF ES Days: Oct. 29, Nov. 26, Dec. 26

• Oconee NF ES Days: Oct. 28–30, Nov. 11–13, 24–27; Dec. 26–Jan. 1.

Oct 22–23, Nov 5–6, Nov 19–Dec 4, Dec 26–Jan 1

Banks, Franklin, Gilmer, Habersham, Hart, Lumpkin, Murray, Stephens, White, Whitfield.

Oct 29, Nov 12, 24–27, Dec 26, Jan 1

Fannin, Rabun, Towns, Union.

Oct 22–Jan 1

Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, and Rockdale Cos. Only; Jan. 2–31 in accordance with statewide bag limits.

Shotguns and Muzzleloaders

Shotguns and muzzleloaders may be used in Forsyth County south of GA Hwy 20.
