Northern Zone Either Sex Days

Firearms Deer Season
(Oct. 19-Jan. 1)

Buck only except during either sex days. Fulton (north of GA Hwy 92) and all of Clayton, Cobb, and DeKalb Counties are CLOSED to firearms deer hunting. In the portion of Forsyth County lying south of GA Hwy 20, archery equipment, shotguns and muzzleloading firearms only (no other firearms allowed).

Either Sex Days on Chattahoochee & Oconee National Forests

Either sex days on National Forest lands differ from county regulations.

  • Chattahoochee NF (lands east of I-75): Oct. 26, Nov. 9, and Nov. 30
  • Chattahoochee NF (lands west of I-75): Same as county either-sex days.
  • Oconee NF: Oct. 26-27, Nov. 28-30, Dec. 26-Jan. 1

Either Sex: Oct. 26, Nov. 9, Nov. 28-30, Jan. 1

Fannin, Rabun, Towns, and Union.

Either Sex: Oct. 26-27, Nov. 9-10, Nov. 19-30, Jan. 1

Banks, Franklin, Gilmer, Habersham, Hart, Lumpkin, Murray, Stephens, White, and Whitfield.

Either Sex: Oct. 19-Nov. 30, Dec. 26-Jan. 1

Baldwin, Barrow, Bartow, Bibb, Butts, Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Clarke, Columbia, Coweta, Crawford, Dade, Dawson, Douglas, Elbert, Fayette, Floyd, Forsyth (In Forsyth County south of GA Hwy 20, only shotguns and muzzleloaders are legal for firearms deer hunting.), Fulton, Glascock, Gordon, Greene, Gwinnett, Hall, Haralson, Heard, Henry, Jackson, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Lincoln, Madison, McDuffie, Monroe, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Paulding, Pickens, Pike, Polk, Putnam, Richmond, Rockdale, Spalding, Taliaferro, Upson, Walker, Walton, Warren, and Wilkes.

Either Sex: Oct. 19-Jan. 1

Hancock, Meriwether, and Troup. Antler restrictions in Hancock, Meriwether and Troup Counties: ONLY bucks with at least four points (one inch or longer) on one side of antlers are legal

Extended Archery Season

Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, and Rockdale Cos. Only; Jan. 2–31 in accordance with statewide bag limits.
