2012 Delaware Duck Stamp

Beginning with black ducks painted by Ned Mayne in 1980, the first year of Delaware’s waterfowl art competition, 33 of the State’s waterfowl species have adorned the annual stamp that is required of waterfowl hunters and prints that are collected by conservationists. The Division of Fish & Wildlife, in partnership with Delaware Ducks Unlimited, began the duck stamp and print program in 1980 to raise funds for waterfowl conservation, including acquiring and improving the wetland habitats that are vital for the survival of migratory waterfowl. To date, more than $2.5 million has been raised. These funds improve waterfowl habitat in Delaware and Canada. This conservation effort helps to ensure that waterfowl species will prosper and provide enjoyment for generations to come.

The 2012 stamp will highlight the fourth in a new series. The new series is open to all Delaware Native Species and can include any other related subject. The 2012 prints and stamps will be available July 1, 2012, in addition to the 2011 and 2010 stamps and prints. After June 30, 2012, the 2009 prints and stamps will be destroyed in accordance with Duck Stamp Program policy.
