Opinions vary about the best decoy for spring turkey hunting, as do the recommendations for the best setup. But whether they prefer a jake, hen, strutting tom or some other configuration, many hunters would agree that the more realistic the decoy, the better.
Aaron Warbritton explains some of the benefits of hunting with realistic decoys on the latest episode of Cabelas’ Spring Thunder.
“Realistic decoys can play a large part in getting birds to commit to your setup… my personal preference is hunting with a strutting decoy. We’ve bagged a ton of turkeys over the years using strutters.”
